The digital notes apps space has exploded recently. With the iPhone and iPad notes apps have been reaching out into all directions. From simple ones to full featured ones to unique use cases. Apps of all types and functions are now at your fingertips.

Evernote

Evernote launched on the App Store in 2008. It was a very simple app back then. It offers a unique web clipper feature that lets you save content from web pages into your notes and preserves all the formatting and images.

However, recently the app has added a lot of features which has added a lot of complexity. It has also become more business oriented and less focused on everyday people.

OneNote

Created by Micrsoft this notes app is free to use but uses Micrsoft's One Drive for storage. With a freeform approach to notes and sketches you can place text and images anywhere on the page. It even recognises your handwriting and can convert it to text.

Apple Notes

This is of course the default notes app that you get with your iOS device. It has recently added support for sketches and handwriting using the Apple Pencil with the iPad. It does the best job of converting your handwriting to text.

It has great features like collaboration, the ability to scan documents and an app for iPhone, iPad and Mac also a web interface to see your notes in a browser.
